Full description
Brown beads at 14mm, and at 31 grams the heaviest strand we make.
The formula
Agarwood · Cinnamon · Patchouli · Clove
The only blend we make with no sandalwood in it. Cinnamon and clove carry it instead, which pulls the whole thing warmer and closer to the kitchen than anything else on this site. That is deliberate, and it is why this one is either your favourite or the one you skip.
Where the name comes from
The seven relations, twelve fragrances.
The seven relations is a term from the Shennong Bencao Jing, the oldest surviving Chinese materia medica. It sets out seven ways any two ingredients can behave toward one another: standing alone; needing each other; one serving another; one fearing another; one blunting another; one cancelling another; and the two that must never be put in the same bowl.
Every blend on this site is an argument about those seven relations. This one puts the argument in its name.
The bracelet

Made by the blended-incense method. Botanicals are selected, hand-ground to powder, sieved, weighed, bound, and rolled into beads one at a time.

About the scent
This is not a perfume.
No alcohol, no spray, no projection. The oils live in the beads and wake with the warmth of your skin. Someone across the room will not smell it — that is the point. It is a scent for the person wearing it.
It is strongest in the first weeks and softens over the months that follow. Keep it dry; moisture is the one thing that shortens its life. If the scent quietens, warm the beads between your palms for a moment.
